Dr Jack Loxham

Senior Counselling Psychologist, PSI Chartered member no.: M10254C

Jack is a chartered counselling psychologist and is also autistic. He has worked with people of all ages in HSE primary care and adult mental health services, the National Counselling Service for adult survivors of childhood abuse and neglect, and within student counselling services. Jack also has significant experience providing neuro-affirmative adult Autism and ADHD assessments. Prior to this, Jack worked in diverse in-patient psychiatric, social care and summer camp settings across the UK, Ireland and Canada.

Jack is highly interested, at both a personal and professional level, in peoples’ experiences of being neurodivergent. He is conscious of how misunderstood neurodivergent individuals and their families can feel, and yet of how resilient and creative they are. He therefore strives to meet all of his clients as equals, give what psychological support he can, and help lift up the barriers they face.

In his therapeutic practice, Jack is particularly interested in psychodynamic and emotion focused approaches, and he continually updates his knowledge and experience of these. Where these approaches might not best serve his neurodivergent clients, however, Jack is more than willing to adapt and change!
